More Than a Movie

Once I saw the documentary film FORKS OVER KNIVES back in 2011, I knew life would never be the same—and it hasn’t been! My husband and I took the deep dive and removed all meat, dairy and added oil from our plates as a result. Since then I’ve viewed the film many times while showing it to members of my Crash Course in Plant-Based Eating. I can’t begin to count the lives that have been positively impacted by this extraordinary film, but I can report that FORKS OVER KNIVES is now much more than a movie.

It’s a fabulous cookbook, it’s a powerful planner, it’s a wonderful magazine, it’s a comprehensive cell phone app, and it’s amazingly delicious food packaged for quick and easy meals.

We prepared one of those tasty meals in our 4th class on PLANT-BASED EATING FOR PERSONAL AND COMMUNITY HEALTH. Moroccan Quinoa Pilaf was a winner and we’d recommend it highly!

While our Pilaf was simmering, we watched a clip from the FORKS OVER KNIVES documentary on Dr Ruth Heidrich and her remarkable recovery from stage 4 breast cancer. I met this amazing plant-powered, medal-winning marathoner in 2016 and can attest to her fun-loving spirit and enduring vitality. You can meet her, too, https://ruthheidrich.com/
