Vegan Dining at WAWA

My Vegan friend Janet reports from the field:

I recently ran into a friend at Wawa.  She said she was there because her teenage daughter is vegan.  “Hey, me too!” I said. This is my favorite vegan restaurant.  Wawa doesn’t have a lot of menu items that are vegan, but they have a few.  Plus lots of fresh fruit like bananas, oranges and apples.  Fresh cut fruit cups of strawberries, pineapple and mango.   Little bags of sliced apples and carrots.   On their order screen they have 3 vegan choices:  veggie sandwich, roasted veggie sandwich, and (my favorite) a rice & bean burrito bowl.   Very yummy!  As you place your order on the screen, and customize your choice, it will show you the calorie count of each item.  I like to order my burrito bowl with extra salsa (just 5 calories), and avocado (40 calories). If you like it spicy, get the jalapeños!  Don’t get the spicy chipotle sauce. It’s 120 calories, and is made with mayonnaise, so it’s not vegan.   Wawa coffee is very good. I drink only decaf.  I like to use a little of their fat free French vanilla non-dairy creamer, and a dash of cinnamon.  Gotta have it!!
