HISTORY OF CAPE HENLOPEN AND BEYOND
The National Gazette of Philadelphia- Captain Davis will leave Monday, August 17, 1840, from Dock Street wharf Philadelphia, at 8 a.m. for an excursion to Cape May, Cape Henlopen, and Lewestown Breakwater with the National Brass Band aboard. The fare is $6. The Ohio will stop at Cape May on her way down, then to Cape Henlopen and Lewestown Breakwater Tuesday for some fine fishing. The Ohio will leave the Breakwater Wednesday and stop at Cape May on her way up. The agent is J. D. Peck.
