Constance M. ‘Connie’ Hayes, teacher’s assistant

Constance M. “Connie” Hayes of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Kingston, N.Y., passed away peacefully at sunrise Sunday, July 14, 2019, at her residence. 

Prior to retirement, Connie worked for many years as a teacher’s assistant in the Kingston school district. She was known for her love of family and friends, her kind and generous spirit, her entertaining wit and warming smile.

Connie is survived by her loving sister and brothers: Michael Hayes and his partner Frank Delia, Kathleen Lucas and her husband Gene, and Thomas Hayes and his wife Iris. She was the cherished aunt of Kim and Steve Newberry, Ken Krom, Eric and Erica Krom, and the late Tom and Scott Hayes; loving great-aunt of Alex, Dylan and Colin; and lifelong friend of Carol, Stina and Irene.

The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to her home care companion, Chris and the caring staff of Delaware Hospice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Friends may also call the evening prior, Thursday, July 18, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.
