Public interest advocate Tom Sheridan to speak at spirituality series Aug. 8
St. Peter's Episcopal Church announced that Tom Sheridan will be the Summer Spirituality Series presenter at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, in the parish hall, 211 Mulberry St., Lewes.
Sheridan is a national advocate for public interest causes and social impact. His career spans more than 30 years and has touched many transformative social issues. From facing the AIDS pandemic with Bono to 21st century social innovation, Sheridan has used his heart and head to lead successful strategies that have changed the world. He is a social worker by profession and a rare, white-hat lobbyist by trade.
He is married to Vince Walsh. They live in Washington, D.C., and Lewes with their two dogs and two horses.
His latest book, “Helping the Good Do Better: How a White Hat Lobbyist Advocates for Social Change,” pulls back the curtain on the corridors of power in Washington and reveals how social change really happens. It is a direct and honest look at government in action and the behind-the-scenes players who help make progress a reality.
Complimentary ice cream will be served after the presentation. For details, go to www.stpeterslewes.org, or call the church office at 302-645-8479.
