Three days of peace, music and food

Woodstock 50th anniversary at Mulligan's Pointe near Georgetown on Aug. 15-17
August 12, 2019

No golf clubs are required, but you might want to wear your best tie-dye shirt to Mulligan’s Pointe's Get Groovy Weekend Thursday, Aug. 15, Friday, Aug. 16, and Saturday, Aug. 17. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, the club is getting in the groove with hippy hour and lunch and dinner specials as well as three days of music.

The event kicks off 50 years to the day after musicians took to the Woodstock stage on Max Yasgur's 600-acre dairy farm near Bethel, N.Y.

On Thursday's Hippy Happy Hour, Al Frantic kicks things off at 4 p.m. playing classic and light rock followed by local DJ Sky Brady at 7 p.m.

During Funky Friday Fun, Junior and Chatty – rock and popular – are scheduled to play at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. the PKS featuring Hannah Cassidy – county, rock and popular – will perform.

Junior and Chatty members Junior Wilson and Chad Cooper are well-known local musicians having played for other bands including The Movies and The Cutters. The five-piece band PKS is making their debut at the event.

During Super Stoked Saturday, Shotgun Willie will perform at 4 p.m. during hippy hour followed by Group Therapy – rock-and-roll dance party – at 8 p.m.

Shotgun Willie, aka Mike Long, has been singing country legend Willie Nelson's songs as long as he can remember.

Group Therapy, another band with well-known local musicians, includes Tom King, strings; Troy Palmer, bass; Russ Holloway, drums; and Joel Morris, vocals.

Those who attend in Woodstock-era clothing are eligible for prizes.

Mulligan's Pointe is located at 22426 Sussex Pines Road near Georgetown. For more information, phone 856-6283.
