Henlopen Grange presents award to Anne Norman

November 2, 2019

The Henlopen Grange presented its Community Citizen Award to Anne Norman Oct. 25 at the offices of the Greater Lewes Community Village. Anne has volunteered for the Greater Lewes Community Village for the past six years. GLCV is a volunteer organization aimed at helping seniors stay in their homes for as long as possible.

Norman does a lot of driving, taking members to doctor appointments and various chores. For the past six years, she has also been involved in running GLCV's annual fundraiser, the Attic Treasures sale. Proceeds from the sale help subsidize membership fees for those who cannot afford to pay the annual dues. This year the sale raised over $25,000.

Norman is also on the board of Lewes Unleashed, the Lewes dog park. Initially, the board was responsible for fundraising for the dog park. Now that the park is a reality, there are charges for its maintenance and day-to-day functioning. Norman has three dogs of her own.

She also volunteers for LEAP, Literary Education Assistance Pups. She and her dog Daisy visit the Lewes library and the Rehoboth Boys & Girls Club once a week, and the children read to Daisy.
