Naturopath Kim Furtado to host new office open house Jan. 16
Kim Furtado, ND, will host an open house from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday Jan. 16, to celebrate the relocation of her naturopathic medicine practice to a new office suite at at the Sandbar Plaza on Route 1 southbound near the Nassau Bridge.
Naturopathic medicine and naturopathy refer to a system of medicine focused on preventive healthcare. Founded on the healing power of nature, naturopathy works to restore the functioning of body, mind and spirit through treatments that enhance the body's innate healing abilities.
In naturopathic medicine, the body, mind, and spirit are viewed as an integral whole, and symptoms of "dis-ease" are seen as indicators of improper functioning or unfavorable lifestyle habits. Furtado’s goal is to address the underlying cause of illness and avoid treating only symptoms.
Furtado has been in practice in Delaware since 2001. She received her doctor of naturopathic medicine degree from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Wash. She also holds a bachelor of science degree with honors in biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Clinical services at the office include nutrition, herbal medicine, clinical detoxification, hormonal balancing, stress management, functional medicine testing and more.
Light refreshments will be served and informal tours of the office will be available. The address is 19413 Jingle Shell Way Unit 2, Sand Bar Plaza, Lewes. For more information, go to www.drkimfurtado.com or call 302-945-2107.
