John ‘Jack’ Farley, World War II vet
John “Jack” L. Farley, 85, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, surrounded by his family.
A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Jack was born May 16, 1926, in Washington, D.C.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Dee Farley; loving and devoted father of John W. Farley, Deborah Betts, and Sandra McGaw; grandfather of Daniel Farley, Lauren Farley, Michael Hagins, April Johnson, Christopher Leader, Allison McGaw and Sarah McGaw; great-grandfather of Lily Johnson and Oliver Hagins; beloved brother of Nancy Gorbea, Eileen Kling, and the late Suzanne Hoy. He is also survived by a host of other family and friends who were blessed to know him.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 14, at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Ave., Rehoboth Beach. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 13, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes,. Interment will immediately follow funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Dr., Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713 or to the Disabled American Veterans, 183 S. Street, Camden-Wyoming, DE 19934.
