Marion M. Moore, owned racehorses
Marion M. Moore, 87, of Frankford went home to be with the Lord Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md.
Marion was born in Bethany Beach Oct. 25, 1932, daughter of the late Vernon O. Murray and the late Bertha (Hudson) Murray. She was a graduate of John M. Clayton High School. Mrs. Moore was employed as a secretary with the Delmarva Poultry Exchange prior to the birth of her children.
Marion and her husband Gerald owned several racehorses and the Moore & Murray Stables in Frankford. She also enjoyed going to the racetrack with her family to watch her horses compete.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald O. Moore Sr. in 2004; a daughter, Maryann Moore; two brothers, Richard Murray and Vernon S. “Smitty” Murray. She is survived by her son, Gerald O. Moore Jr. and his wife Tina of Frankford; a stepgrandson, Stephen Stiles, currently serving in the U.S. Air Force in Turkey; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Ann Murray of Frankford; and a nephew, Keith Murray and his wife Darnell of Frankford.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 31, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends and family may visit after 9 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George’s Cemetery in Clarksville.
