A $10,000 tip for caring, friendly service
Parking can be challenging at Beebe Healthcare’s Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus. But Beebe’s dedicated Valet Services Team is always there – rain or shine, 365 days a year – for Beebe patients and visitors. And this service is free!
On average, the team parks close to 100 cars a day, and many a grateful individual offers the valet team member a monetary tip for their assistance. However, because the valets are Beebe Healthcare employees, they cannot accept these tips personally.
Instead, the Valet Services Team collects the tips as donations that go to the Beebe Medical Foundation. And in October 2019, the foundation proudly acknowledged the Valet Team’s cumulative gift to the I Believe in Beebe campaign, a total of $10,088.51.
The goal of the Valet Services Team is to help patients and visitors by alleviating some of the stress and anxiety that a visit to the hospital can cause. Truly a part of the total care team at Beebe, not only do the valets park a patient/visitor’s car, they also get wheelchairs for patients who need them, assist them with belongings, and direct them where to go once inside. That kind of excellent care is certainly worth celebrating!
While the I Believe in Beebe campaign is the most historic in Beebe’s 103-year history, Beebe Healthcare still needs your support. The hospital is proud that its $200 million expansion effort is rapidly becoming a reality for the community it serves here in Sussex County.
