Beth McCormick, true gift with children

May 27, 2020

Beth McCormick, 60, of Lewes passed away Monday, May 25, 2020, after a hard-fought battle against cancer.

Daughter of Betty-O and Eddie Creadick, Beth was a true Lewes native. Born and raised on Kings Highway, Beth graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1978, and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Beth had a true gift when it came to children, and worked as a preschool teacher for many years.

Beth loved spending time in her yard; gardening, swimming and hanging out with her beloved dogs and chickens. She enjoyed yoga, bike rides, back porch parties and spending time with all of her friends and family.

Much like her father Eddie, Beth was a very social character who never met a stranger. She had the most kind, fun-loving spirit, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and unmistakable laugh.

A loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend, Beth was a one-of-a-kind, shining bright light that will be missed by so many.

Beth is survived by her husband, Allyn McCormick; his son Nathan McCormick; her two daughters; Casey Cornellier (Thomas Cornellier) and Erin Cahill; her sister Sandy Ribinsky; and her two grandchildren, Pearl and Duke Cornellier.

A small private celebration of life will be held Monday afternoon, June 1.
