A Love Creek Elementary School employee tested positive for COVID-19, district officials announced Oct. 4.
The employee does not work directly with students and had limited contact with them, officials said in an email to families. The Cape Henlopen School District follows Delaware Division of Public Health guidelines for quarantining and isolation protocols when positive COVID-19 cases are discovered.
“Out of an abundance of caution, as advised by DPH, the Cape Henlopen School District will have certain staff members quarantine that were potentially exposed to the positive staff member,” the district stated. “DPH has advised that no quarantining of students is warranted. Individuals will be contacted as necessary for contact tracing or if there was a possibility of exposure.”
School officials ask parents to continue to monitor their children every day for any COVID-19 symptoms using the COVID-19 Self-Screening Tool.
