Looking to bring consistency and quality to adult recreational and medical marijuana users, New York-based Columbia Care recently announced the launching of Seed & Strain, a cannabis lifestyle brand.
In a press release Oct. 8, Columbia Care said the new product line was created to provide consumers a credible, consistent line of clean and powerful cannabis products.
“This brand was born to meet the needs of today’s cannabis customer,” said Nicholas Vita, Columbia Care CEO, in a prepared statement.
Columbia Care currently operates 99 facilities – 76 dispensaries, 23 cultivation and manufacturing – with licenses in 18 jurisdictions in the United States and European Union. The company has three medical marijuana locations in Delaware, one in all three counties. The Rehoboth dispensary opened in October 2019.
Vita said customers shared concerns over the quality and consistency of products. Customers want a streamlined buying experience with access to brands that represent products of similar quality, traits, and potency, he said.
Jesse Channon, Columbia Care chief growth officer, said the company sees an opportunity and responsibility to build national brands that customers and patients can trust and rely on.
“The two largest struggles for any well-designed cannabis brand in the past have been the difficulty of offering products in multiple markets, as well as control over supply chain to ensure consistent quality,” said Channon, in a prepared statement.
Columbia Care’s scaled national operations and reputation for high-quality products uniquely position the company to solve these issues and deliver a thoughtfully built brand with consistent, curated product collections available from coast to coast.
Seed & Strain flower products were launched in Massachusetts, Illinois and Delaware. Columbia Care officials say there are plans to expand the brand to markets in Arizona, California and Florida. According to the press release announcing Seed & Strain, over the coming weeks and months, consumers will see product offerings such as tinctures, pre-rolls, vape kits and topicals added to the first wave of flower products hitting the shelves at the outset.
