Carolyn Marie Dixon, retired nurse

Carolyn Marie Dixon, 67, of Bridgeville passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, in Seaford.  She was born May 30, 1953, in Easton, Md., daughter of the late Wilson and Elizabeth Murray.

Mrs. Dixon made a lifelong career as a home healthcare nurse. She worked for many years at American Original and later with Visiting Nurses Association, now known as Christiana Care. Mrs. Dixon was a member of Emmanuel Deliverance Ministries in Hurlock, Md. She always had you laughing with her great sense of humor and loved having her family all back home for the holidays. Mrs. Dixon was an excellent cook but was most known for her love of shopping, especially at Walmart.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by one grandson, Vondel Foreman, and two sisters: Delsa and Doris Murray. She is survived by her husband, Harold James Dixon Sr.; three children: Geraldine Foreman of Georgetown, Harold "Toot" Dixon Jr. and his wife Lori of Orlando, Fla., and Dmitria Dixon of Bridgeville; eight grandchildren: Shatera Tera Foreman, TJ Dixon, Isaih Foreman, Renee' Dixon, Donovan Dixon, Elijah Naphier, Elaysha Naphier, and Kingston Auguste; two great grandchildren: Harmony Foreman and Makhi Foreman; 10 siblings: Gary Maddox, Debbie Turner, Barbara Harris, Marvin Benson, Irving Murray, Sandra Leatherburg, Janet Murray, Wilson Murray, Jr. Darlene Murray, and Karen Murray; and her three best friends: Zel Cannon, Dana Bowmen and Marcia Cannon.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at 3 p.m., at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be private.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn, and social distancing protocols must be observed by all participating in any aspect of the funeral services.
