KSI receives grant from Sussex County Council

Kent-Sussex Industries recently received a human service grant from Sussex County Council, enabling its transportation department to continue providing critical door-to-door, round-trip transportation services to Sussex County residents receiving services from KSI. In addition to transportation, KSI also provides vocational training, employment, community integration, day habilitation, life enrichment, and nutritional services to individuals with disabilities throughout Sussex and Kent counties. Unitarian Universalists to meet Jan. 10

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold an online service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 10.  All are welcome to view this Sunday Service on UUSD's Facebook Page. For more information, go to uussd.org.

DNREC air quality permitting training to start Jan. 12

Business owners, consultants and others interested in learning about the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control’s air-quality permitting application process are invited to three virtual training sessions hosted by DNREC and industry partners from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 12, 19 and 26, using WebEx. Certificates for professional development hours will be available for those participating. The Jan. 12 session will be an overview including an introduction to the DNREC Division of Air Quality, air-permitting basics and confidentiality. The Jan. 19 session will focus on boilers, and the Jan. 26 session will focus on generators. For more information, go to dnrec.alpha.delaware.gov and search air quality permitting training.

Federal Campaign for donations underway

The Combined Federal Campaign, the official workplace giving campaign for the federal community, has started for 2020. Many local Delmarva charities are part of this large workplace giving effort. Federal employees, postal employees, active-duty service members and federal retirees represent a powerful, caring community. To donate to the CFC through Friday, Jan. 15, go to cbacfc.givecfc.org.
