Unitarian Universalists to meet Feb. 28
The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold a live online service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Feb. 28. The Rev. Paula Maiorano said, “How are the Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware planning to continue their journey toward spiritual wholeness and beloved community?” All are welcome to view this service on UUSD's Facebook Page. Milton Community Food Pantry distribution slated for March 1
Milton Community Food Pantry will be distributing food from 10 a.m to noon, Monday, March 1. All patrons should first report to the parking lot of Goshen Church on the corner of Federal Street and Mulberry Street, and follow the volunteers’ directions. Masks are required for everyone including volunteers and clients. If there are any weather issues, the pantry will follow the school closing schedule and plan to offer the distribution a few days later. The new date and all other distribution dates will be published online at miltonpantry.org. Distributions will continue on the first and third Mondays of the month at this time. Food bank to host drive-thru event in Georgetown March 1
The Food Bank of Delaware will host more drive-thru mobile pantries in each Delaware county for families struggling to afford food. In Sussex County, the drive-thru pantry event will start at 11 a.m., Monday, March 1, at Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown. The food bank requests that participants make sure their trunks or back seats are cleared out so volunteers can load food with minimal interaction. To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, public restrooms will not be available. To help speed up the check-in process, preregistration is requested; go to https://tinyurl.com/53p3praf. On-site registration will also be available. Service will be first-come, first-served. Assistance is limited to one per household. Attendees must be present to receive assistance. The Food Bank of Delaware is prepared to serve up to 1,500 households at this event. Recipients must bring proof of ID and Delaware residence.
Delaware Tech to host virtual open houses
Delaware Technical Community College is offering virtual open house sessions for prospective students.
Sessions will be held at 4:30 or 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 2, for those interested in health professions, science, energy, engineering, information technology and networking, HVAC, agriculture, and transportation.
Sessions will be held at 4:30 or 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 3, for academic programs in human services, education, criminal justice, business, culinary, communications, visual communications, health professions, and science.
Preregistration is not required. Interested students can simply go to go.dtcc.edu/OpenHouse at the time of their desired session and click on the provided link.
