Art walk entries for Wings of Hope due June 4
Cancer Support Community Delaware’s 11th Annual Wings of Hope event is set for 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, June 19, at Stango Park in Lewes.
It is highlighted by the release of beautiful monarch butterflies in recognition of family, friends, and neighbors throughout Sussex County and Delaware whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
New to this year’s event will be an art walk. CSCDE is calling fluttering artists of all ages to submit butterfly-inspired art to display throughout the park. Art forms such as paintings, pottery, sculpture, textiles, antiques and photographs will all be accepted. Submissions are due by Friday, June 4.
The Wings of Hope planning committee members will select the pieces to display. All registrants will have their images showcased on the website, since space may be limited at the event. All submitting artists will receive an event T-shirt. The entry fee is $10. Student entry fees will be waived.
This celebration of life ceremony will be open to the public and is a free community event held June 19 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Safe family-friendly activities, demonstrations and a chance auction will also be happening throughout the morning.
