Second hyperbaric oxygen chamber arrives at Delaware Hyperbarics
Delaware Hyperbarics, Sussex County’s first hyperbaric oxygen treatment center, is expanding its services with a second hyperbaric oxygen therapy chamber that arrived June 18.
The new chamber will increase availability for patients and open the practice doors to more customers who would like to experience the service’s healing properties.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is a pressurized treatment that increases the body’s natural healing ability by boosting the concentration of oxygen in the bloodstream. It is used to treat symptoms of athletic injuries, concussions, and Lyme disease, and help reduce symptoms and speed recovery from many other conditions. It provides benefits such as increased energy and flexibility, and better sleep.
“I’m so excited about how fast our business is growing. The additional chamber will allow us to meet the high demand we’ve seen already for hyperbaric oxygen therapy from the coastal community,” said co-founder Liz Guida. An experienced licensed massage therapist, Guida is also a triathlete and former art teacher.
Delaware Hyperbarics officially opened its doors Feb. 9 as the first integrated healing center to offer HBOT in Sussex County.
“Integrating oxygen therapy into our practice allows us to take healing treatment to the next level,” said co-founder Steve Caldwell, a longtime Sussex County resident, and also a licensed massage therapist and triathlete.
Delaware Hyperbarics also offers medical massage, John F. Barnes Myofascial Release and an infrared Sunlighten Sauna. Its experienced staff listens closely to clients’ needs to determine the best treatment combination to help clients heal faster.
