Cape wrestling wins all three sides of invitational quadrangle

There are four teams in a quadrangular wrestling match, but a team can't pin a win on itself.  Cape Henlopen wrestling was perfect Jan. 28, sweeping three sides of a four-sided contest as it defeated Woodbridge 63-14, Sussex Tech 46-21 and Indian River 45-30.

The Ravens of Sussex Tech finished 2-1 on the day, defeating Indian River 43-37 and Woodbridge 61-16.

Indian River lost to Sussex Tech and Cape but beat Woodbridge 52-23.

The three wins push Cape's dual-meet record to 7-3. The Vikings host the undefeated Polytech Panthers Wednesday, Feb. 1.

Cape best individual records to date include Austin Smith 21-9, Garrett Smith 25-7, Justin Lopez 24-7, Sammy Mohr 22-4,Tadeo Gonzalez 19-10, Aaron Dennis 16-4, Andre Flowers 16-9 and Thomas Ott 26-2.
