Mariner field hockey shuts out Delmar

The Mariner Middle School field hockey team ran past the Delmar Middle School Wildcats 8-0 to win its first game of the season. The games with Georgetown and Millsboro Middle were postponed.
Maddie Long scored three goals to lead the Mariner Vikings. Leighton Swope tallied two scores, and Emily Wells, Regan Best and Emmi Swope each added a score.
The Vikings travel to Dover Central Middle Monday, Oct. 4.
