I am appalled at the flagrant violation of the United States Constitution as the Rehoboth Beach government caved into the relentless Catholic and Christian insistence that a rendition of what many think was the nativity scene of Jesus be allowed to be erected on public property.
Rumor has it that the spineless city council caved in because fighting this clear violation of the First Amendment became too expensive. I am referring this obvious violation of the Constitution to the Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and perhaps their deeper pockets would pursue the lawsuit. It is clear that the insistence of many local Catholics and other Christians have no regard for our constitution and the ever- so-important wall of separation of church and state. Appalling is the best word I can think of to describe this.
