Atlantic Refrigeration announces change in ownership

Atlantic Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, a leader on Delmarva in the commercial refrigeration, and commercial and residential heating and air-conditioning services business, recently announced a change in ownership.

Dave Jones, owner and president of Atlantic, which has been providing these services to the local area since 1984, will be retiring.

The company has been acquired by Vice President of Operations Jamie Nickerson and Sales Manager Connor Jones.

“I am really excited for Jamie and Connor. I am proud that the company will continue on with our proven leadership and commitment to outstanding customer service. Jamie and Connor share my commitment to provide an excellent customer experience,” said Dave Jones.

“In addition, it’s great that the company will remain locally owned. So many companies in our industry are purchased by larger conglomerates, and they lose the local touch that we give. I feel keeping it locally owned is important. I would like to thank every customer that I’ve been privileged to serve and become friends with over the years. I would also like to extend thanks to all of our great staff. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the best people in my years in this business and partner with some of the best vendors, many who have become wonderful friends. Business is all about relationships,” he said. “I will continue to provide industry operation and marketing consulting.”

Nickerson has worked in the industry with Dave Jones for 26 years. He has been actively involved in every aspect of the company. Nickerson has a degree in applied HVAC science from Delaware Tech and a bachelor’s degree in business from Wilmington University. He has spent years on the faculty of Delaware Technical Community College teaching industry-related courses, and he has been active in numerous local charities. He and his wife Crystal live in Milton with their children.

Connor Jones grew up in the business and has been a full-time member of the Atlantic team since graduating from High Point University in 2014. Connor also attended the HVAC program at Delaware Tech. He is well known in the area not only for his involvement at Atlantic, but also as a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School where he was active in sports and JROTC. Connor and his fiancée Alexandra Rizzo reside in Lewes.

Both Nickerson and Connor Jones wish Dave Jones the best moving forward, and they said they are really excited for the opportunity to continue to operate and grow Atlantic, and keep the company locally owned and operated.
