Falls to No. 2 Harford
March 16, 2022

Four players hit the twine four times each March 14 as the Delaware Tech lacrosse team defeated No. 7 nationally ranked Monroe Community College of New York 17-15 at DE Turf.

Former Cape standout Jack Dennis scored all four of his goals in the third quarter to pace the comeback for the Delaware Tech squad. Conor Christie (Milford), Matt Kracyla (Middletown) and Brandon Tice (Lake Forest) also scored four times while Kevin Nyandemo (First State Military Academy) hit for one.

Caleb Seacrist (Lake Forest) made 10 saves in goal for the 5-0 Del Tech team.

Del Tech took on No. 2 ranked Harford March 16 and fell 19-8 to the powerful Fighting Owls. Harford’s roster looks like a national register, boasting players from Canada, California, New York, Colorado, Texas and Minnesota.

Brandon Tice (Lake Forest) scored four goals. Jack Dennis (Cape Henlopen) added two while Conor Christie (Milford) and Matt Kracyla (Middletown) scored once.

Caleb Seacrist (Lake Forest) made 16 saves in goal while Brody McMillion (Milford) made six stops.

The prolific scoring Owls jumped out to a 11-0 lead before the Del Tech squad got their legs under them. Del Tech turned the scales in the second half matching the Owls’ seven goals.

“I was extremely proud of our effort in both games,” said Del Tech head coach Sean Tischler. “I believe the product that we had on the field both nights highlights the team culture we have been trying to build for over a year now. In both games, we faced adversity for the first time this year. Going into the Monroe game, ranked seventh at the time, we had over a plus 60 goal differential and had never trailed in a game all year. We were down 11-8 in the third and went on a 7-0 run, and that speaks volumes about our young men. Harford may be the best team in the country when the season is over. We were down by 11 goals at one point and tied them 7-7 the rest of the way. That speaks to the character of our guys and coaches who never stopped coaching or playing. It would have been easy to throw up a white flag at that point and nobody did. I love our guys.”

Del Tech (5-1) travels to Hudson Valley Community College Saturday, March 19.
