Great Delaware Kite Festival is April 15

The 51st annual Great Delaware Kite Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, April 15, at Cape Henlopen State Park. The year’s event features kite competitions for children and adults, stunt-flying demonstrations, an egg hunt with 5,000 candy- and toy-filled eggs, a two-person egg toss and food and kite and toy vendors. Registration for competitions begins at 10 a.m. with the children’s contest starting at 11:30 a.m. and the adult’s competition at 2 p.m. The egg hunt takes place at 11 a.m. The free event is sponsored by Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Delaware Division of Parks and Recreation.
