Old bottles, rare books and other aged goodies on display
The Delmarva Antique Bottle Club hosted its annual show May 15 at the Ellendale Fire Hall. Dozens of tables were set up with thousands of antique bottles, old books, well-used tools and other valuable memorabilia from years ago.
All the antiques on the tables were for sale, and the vendors knew the history of any item that sparked a conversation. Vendors also spent an equal amount of time showing off new old items to old friends – the club has been around for decades.
Kathy Moon, club president, thanked the Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company for providing them a place to hold the event and for contributing to the club’s student scholarship fund. There were six students for two scholarships, which are available to high school seniors from Sussex County, said Moon.
