Lawrence A. Carlton, loved his family

Lawrence A. Carlton (Larry) passed away Friday, May 13, 2022, at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with glioblastoma.

Larry was born Aug. 24, 1945, to Samuel and Elizabeth Carlton in Swedesboro, N.J. After Larry graduated from Pitman High School in 1963, he went on to study at Pierce Junior College in Philadelphia. He put his education on hold to serve his country for three years in the U.S. Army from 1966-69. After completing his military service, Larry attended University of Delaware. After graduating with a degree in business administration, he started his first job at DuPont. He later moved to the banking industry and found his calling as a financial advisor for PNC Investments. In retirement, Larry enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time with his family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Samuel; and his brother, Bennett. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Chris (Christine), Keith (Josphine), Andrew, Joseph (Nicole), Rachel (Brock); his grandchildren Rylee, Deegan and Sean; and his sister, Virginia (Dwane).

A celebration of life will be held at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, May 26, at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Pastor Joe LeCates will officiate. Interment will be held privately.
