Arsht-Cannon Fund grants $25K to local ESL program
The English as a Second Language Program at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach recently received a $25,000 grant awarded by the Arsht-Cannon Fund at the Delaware Community Foundation.
Since 2004, this fund has provided more than $11 million to nonprofit organizations in Delaware, many of which assist Delaware’s Latino families. The LCOS-ESL program is honored to partner with the Arsht-Canon Fund.
The LCOS-ESL program, operating since 2004, is the largest community-based English as a Second Language program in Sussex County. This program is available to adults who want to learn or to improve speaking, reading and writing the English language from Basic Level through Level 4.
Registration cost is $25 per 10-week session, and the books are free. Two-hour classes meet twice a week for 10 weeks. Volunteer educators come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds.

Unitarian Universalist service to stream June 26
The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will provide a link to the Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly service for online viewing at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, June 26. There will be no in-person UUSD service June 26. To access the link, go to uussd.org.
Tanger Outlets to host Tuesday job fairs in June
Tanger Outlets Rehoboth Beach will host a job fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Tuesday through June 28, at Suite 1920, next to Gap in Tanger Seaside, 36470 Seaside Outlet Drive, Rehoboth Beach.
More than 60 retail partners are hiring full-time, part-time, year-round and seasonal associates, including Rue 21, Sunglass Hut, Ecco, Old Navy, Ann Taylor, Champion, Lee Wrangler, Offline by Aerie, Lacoste and more.
Interested applicants should bring copies of their resume and cover letters to be ready for onsite interviews at participating stores.

Millsboro library accepting book sale donations
The Friends of the Millsboro Public Library group is collecting books for its summer book sale. Book donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesdays and 1 to 5 p.m., Thursdays during June. A Friends representative will be available at the library to accept donations at the door and help those who need assistance. Fiction and nonfiction, paperbacks and hardbacks will be accepted, but not encyclopedias, reference books, textbooks and magazines. Sale proceeds support the Children’s Summer Reading Program. Estate planning talk set June 29
Indian Mission United Methodist Church will host its monthly Welcome Wednesday event at 6 p.m., June 29. The guest speaker will be attorney Rebecca Doyle of Baird Mandalas Brockstedt Federico & Cardea. Topics of discussion will be estate planning, durable power of attorney, wills, living wills, probate, beneficiaries and more. This is a free event; all are invited.
