Beebe welcomes general surgeon John Tyson

Beebe Medical Group recently announced board-certified general surgeon John William Tyson, MD, FACS, has joined its medical staff.

“Please welcome Dr. Tyson, an experienced surgeon, to Sussex County and Team Beebe,” said Stephen Keiser, Beebe Medical Group chief administrative officer. “He joins a team of talented surgeons who provide excellent surgical care for our community.”

Tyson completed both his general surgery residency and general surgery internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif. He served in the Navy for 14 years. Previously, he served as both clerkship director and associate professor at Florida State University College of Medicine. His most recent experience is as an acute care/trauma surgeon at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, Conn., where he also was involved in surgical residency training.

“I am delighted to be returning to Sussex County,” Tyson said. “Having worked as a beach boy and Rehoboth Beach lifeguard, I now have the pleasure of caring for the surgical needs of the community. I am joining an amazing medical team at Beebe, and I look forward to serving you.”

Tyson will see patients at Beebe General Surgery, 33672 Bayview Medical Drive in Lewes. He is employed by Beebe Medical Group and is a member of Beebe Healthcare's Medical Staff. To make an appointment, call 302-703-3630.
