Board members from the Delaware Celebration of Jazz, which produces the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, recently presented Beebe Medical Foundation with $25,000 in proceeds from the 2021 event.
The Delaware Celebration of Jazz team also hosted a jazz concert in Dover at Bally’s Dover Casino, which raised $5,000 for Beebe oncology services.
Tom Protack, Beebe Medical Foundation president, said, “Over time, this event has brought some of the best jazz acts to our community and raised over $200,000 toward Beebe oncology services. This team went the extra mile this year and added a concert to support Beebe in Dover. We cannot thank Denny and our friends at the Delaware Celebration of Jazz enough for their continued dedication to Beebe’s oncology services.”
Beebe Healthcare Executive Director of Oncology Services Maurice Winkfield said, “As the area population has grown, our patient volumes have grown substantially. Donations like this make a huge difference in our ability to serve patients and update our facilities. Thank you to the organizers and attendees of this event for supporting our team and cancer centers year after year.”
The 2022 Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival will take place Thursday to Sunday, Oct. 13 to 16. To learn more, go to rehobothjazz.com.
Proceeds will benefit Beebe Healthcare’s oncology services, including upcoming upgrades to the Tunnell Cancer Center.
“Tunnell Cancer Center and the team at Beebe have a special place in my heart,” said Dennis Santangini, Delaware Celebration of Jazz president. “Our board loves giving back to the selfless team members who support our community’s cancer patients every day.”
