VFW Post 7447 awards annual scholarships

VFW Post 7447 Commander Bill Wood announced this year’s scholarship recipients are Olivia Rose and Erica Thigpen. They are granddaughters of VFW Post 7447 life members Rodger Rose and Dr. Matthew Barlow, respectively.

Selection was based on the applicants’ scholastic success in addition to community involvement, career goals and family support.

Certificates of achievement went to each recipient as well as cash prizes of $1,000 to aid in their continued academic success and pursuit of their ultimate education and career goals.

VFW Post 7447 offers two continuing education scholarships each year. Both local high school students and freshman college students are eligible. For more, go to rehobothvfw.org.
