Makoa Na’seer Copes, had a bright smile

September 27, 2022

Makoa Na’seer Copes passed peacefully in his sleep Monday, Sept. 12, 2022. He was born Sept. 5, 2021, in Milford, son of Malik D. Copes and Zynaisa L. Ramil.

Makoa loved to hug and cuddle with his mommy. He had a smile that brightened the room and made your heart smile. He enjoyed playing with his sister, Aveah and his brother, Kamari. Makoa was spoiled and truly loved by his godmother, Taylor McCray.

Makoa’s favorite foods were pizza, noodles, greens, and chicken, and he loved snack time. Makoa also loved to sing, dance and praise God when he attended church with his mother. His favorite song was “If You’re Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands.” Makoa also loved listening to his father’s music. He especially loved bath time. That was the perfect time for him to splash water everywhere, try to swim and throw all the toys out of the bathtub. Makoa was a gift to us that will live in our hearts forever.

Makoa was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Willie Selby and Abraham Week; and his great-grandmothers, Mercy G. Spruance, Blanche Melvin and Marlene Davis.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Malik D. Copes; his mother, Zynaisa L Ramil; one sister, Aveah Pierce of Millsboro; one brother, Kamari Coleman of Georgetown; his maternal grandparents, Andre J. Ramil (Sonya) of Milton, and Ineishia Corbett (Jeffrey) of Ellendale; paternal grandparents, Daun J. Copes of Delaware, and Kimberly S. Magee of Georgetown; his paternal great-grandparents, Daun A.
