Mitchell Stephen Gulyas Jr., cherished his family

Mitchell Stephen Gulyas Jr., 76, of Georgetown, passed away suddenly Thursday, April 13, 2023, at Beebe Healthcare.

Mitchell was born in West Ocean City, Md., Feb. 6, 1947, to the late Mitchell Stephen Sr. and Myrtle (Quick) Gulyas. 

Mitchell was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church in Georgetown. He was also a member of the Improved Order of Red Men Nanticoke Tribe No. 21. His favorite pastimes include fishing, cutting grass, and going to Georgetown Dunkin Donuts to spend time with his friends. Above all else though, he valued the time spent with his family. 

In addition to his parents, Mitchell is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Short) Gulyas; the mother of his child, Geraldine King; and his sisters, Linda Gulyas and Genevieve Marvel. 

He will be greatly missed by his children, Shelley Gulyas (Jeff), Jerry Sipple, Bill Sipple and Dawn Sipple; his sisters, Diana Nelson (Dennis), Libby Gulyas and Catherine Joiner (David); his grandchildren, Robbie Hearn, Tyler Eskridge, Jeffrey Isenhower, Buddy Sipple, Jay Sipple, Lindsay Sipple and Ryan Sipple. 

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 21, at Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Cemetery.
