Robert (Bob) Lucius Carpenter Sr. passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, in Atlantic City, N.J. Bob was raised in Claymont, spending most of his life in Delaware. Bob was born June 28, 1940, to Lucius Onis and Alice Carpenter of Lincoln and Lewes. Bob loved fishing, sewing, making his own tackle and Christmas ornaments, and woodworking, and was a hardworking carpenter most of his life. Our father's time on earth was not always the easiest, so we are so very grateful for the peace and joy he is now experiencing in heaven.

The family thanks his dear friend, Jack McCabe; Jack's sister, Nancy Daugherty; Jack's son, Michael; and their cousin, Dee Albertson for being such great friends to our father up until the very end. The family also thanks the Mac Colgain family, Martin and Anne, as well as their sons Diarmaid, Siaghal, Dualtach and Tuathal for being such an important part of our father's life along with his friends, Robert Spelling, Tom Chisholm and Virginia (Ginny) Smilack.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lucius and Alice; as well as his brothers Arthur, Frank and Walter James. He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Bunting (Daniel); son, Robert Carpenter Jr., and daughter Lisa Carpenter, all of Sussex County. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Billy and Bryan (Laurie) Schell, Leah Litchfield, Lyndon and Leslie Hudson; and his great-grandchildren, Will Schell (Brie), Bryan Miller, Irie Little, Sydney, Maiden and Jonas Litchfield, Zander Dowell, Leah and Sevi Klawitter, Mao, Yoh and Kay Hudson, Hannah Hamilton (Tyler), Miya Hall, and Brasen Trent.
