Carl M. Freeman Foundation awards FACES grants
The Carl M. Freeman Foundation recently announced grant awards for 15 Sussex County nonprofit organizations through the Freeman Assists Communities with Extra Support grant program. The FACES program supports small organizations that provide grassroots services to the community.
The FACES program utilizes an advisory board composed entirely of citizens who live or work in Sussex County. Members include community leaders, business professionals, students and nonprofit ambassadors. They evaluate the applications and recommend where funding should be awarded based on the needs and priorities of the community.
The 15 nonprofits receiving a grants are: Art Works for All, Cancer Support Community Delaware, Clothing Our Kids, Engineer Early Association, ESL program at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, Family Promise of Southern Delaware, Historic Lewes Farmers Market, New Hope Recreation & Development Center, North Georgetown Elementary School, Phillip C. Showell Elementary School, St. Vincent de Paul Society, SNAC Gardens Foundation, Rosa Health Center, West Side New Beginnings and Zoe Ministries.
FACES Sussex provides a total award fund of $100,000, which allows awardees to receive grants in the amount of $10,000, $5,000 or $2,500. The projects these grants will fund serve a wide array of needs in Sussex County including support for at-risk children, literacy and education programs, and people facing food insecurity and homelessness.
