Nancy Suzanne Marucci, loved coastal living

Nancy Suzanne Marucci, 66, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, in Millsboro, after a long battle with cardiovascular disease. She was born Aug. 22, 1956, in Alexandria, Va., daughter of the late John Joseph and Patricia (Fitzgerald) Marucci.

Nancy attended the University of Maryland, where she immersed herself in political science, pre-law and women’s studies. Her career took her in a different direction, and she dedicated many years to a large technology company as a project consultant. Nancy had many interests and hobbies. She loved to draw and create art that she gave to friends and family, and she had a passion for baking, and great skill and a love for catering special events, both large and small. Nancy loved coastal living and especially, spending days at the beach with the sun on her face and her toes in the sand. She will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Burroughs. She is survived by her sisters, Johnna Hilliard of Arizona, Gaetana Wolff of New Mexico, and Toni LaGatta of North Carolina; her brother, Dan Marucci of Virginia; her many nieces and nephews; and all of her babies whom she nannied throughout the years.

Services will be private.
