Beebe Healthcare holds Miracle Mile

June 6, 2023

Beebe Healthcare held its annual Miracle Mile on National Cancer Survivors Day June 4 at the Specialty Surgical Hospital on Healthy Way outside Rehoboth Beach. This event is held for awareness and support of survivors and caregivers in the community.

Any donations accepted benefit the Tunnell Cancer Center’s Patient Special Needs Fund, which defrays the cost of travel, food, bills and much more.

A brief welcome ceremony kicked off the event. Speaking at the event were Dr. David Tam, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare; Tom Protack, president of the Beebe Medical Foundation, Alison Leigh Andrew, cancer survivor; Rita Williams, manager of Beebe Oncology Psychosocial and Integrative Health Services; and Christine Steele, social worker with Beebe Oncology Services.

A check from the Delaware Celebration of Jazz was presented before the walk. The donation was proceeds of the 2022 Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival and supported Beebe Healthcare’s Oncology Services.
