Franco Andreani, man of faith

Franco Andreani, 99, of Commack, N.Y., passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Brandywine Senior Living in Rehoboth Beach. He was born Dec. 4, 1923, in Colonnata, Carrara, Italy, son of the late Giuseppe and Maria Francesca (Giannetti) Andreani.

Franco enjoyed a lengthy career as an engineer, working for Embasco Services Inc., EQE International Inc., and Pacific Nuclear Inc., N.Y., retiring in 1995 at 72 years old. He had many and varied interests and hobbies. Franco was a wine connoisseur, and he enjoyed old movies and jazz music. In his younger years, one of his favorite pastimes was home renovations. Faith was a pillar in Franco’s life, and he was a devoted member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Commack, N.Y. Traveling with his family was what brought him one of the greatest joys, and he truly treasured time spent with them, above all. Franco was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was loved by many; he will be forever missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Franco was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marisa Andreani; and his sister, Virginia Perelli of Italy. He is survived by his daughter, Renata Andreani of Lewes; his nephew, Julian Gould of Tallahassee, Fla.; and his niece, Eugenia Perelli of Genoa, Italy.

Services will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
