Allyssa Mae Giroso Cluesman, loved cooking, gardening

June 21, 2023

Allyssa Mae Giroso Cluesman, 33, of Milton, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly the evening of Friday, June 16, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. She was born Nov. 30, 1989, in Ellendale, daughter of Dominick and Patricia Giroso and the late Susan (Wilson) Giroso.

During her short time with us, Allyssa made an impact on many. She had a love for her pets, gardening, cooking and reading books. Every spring she would search any store she shopped for plants and plant bulbs to add to her yard. Lilies were among her favorites, as they came back every year. Allyssa's love of cooking is the only thing that surpassed her love of gardening. She truly enjoyed trying new things and making different dishes. The holidays were always a special time, as Allyssa got to make all sorts of desserts during that time. While her love for reading took a backseat to cooking and gardening, it was not lost. Allyssa had several books that she enjoyed reading over again each year. She enjoyed many fantasy novels in addition to some historic and true crime works. Allyssa was also a loyal friend and coworker. She was never afraid to help out or get dirty helping. Allyssa helped many friends in countless ways over the years, whether it was helping someone move, helping another with advice on pets, or even just being a listening friend. She also had a love for her pets that only fellow pet parents could understand. Allyssa had a pair of loving dogs, Luna and Vega, for 12 years. She even had the pleasure of pet parenting many cats during her time here. Many were brought home unannounced, but she talked her way into keeping, as a child. Allyssa will be lovingly remembered by many for the unique sense of humor and light she brought to our lives. She will live on in our hearts through cooking, gardening, reading a good book, or by being with a beloved pet or best friend. Rest easy now our dear friend and loved one.

In addition to her father and stepmother, Allyssa is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. Cluesman; her sister, Wendy Giroso; her brother, Daniel Swanson and his family; and her many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 21, at Killen’s Pond State Park, Pavilion 1, 5025 Killens Pond Road, Felton, where there will be an entry fee of $4 for Delaware residents and $8 for out-of-state residents. Contact Wendy Giroso for additional information.

Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
