Peninsula Gallery hosts guest artist Eric Fowler
The Peninsula Gallery is hosting Eric Fowler as its July guest artist.
An award-winning artist and teacher, Fowler brings his painterly cityscape portraits to the gallery. Fowler has 30 years of experience teaching illustration at the college level.
Also an award-winning editorial/book illustrator, he has worked for national clients like The New York Times, Time, and Life. For more than 40 years, he has been a member of the Society of Illustrators, serving as collection chair, manager and contractor. He is now a life member of the organization. He has exhibited in multiple galleries and museums since the early 1970s, all in the New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas. His work hangs in public and private collections.
Fowler earned his bachelor of fine arts degree from the Pratt Institute and was the first scholarship winner for the Illustrator's Workshop. He is currently an adjunct instructor for the Center for Creative Exploration at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design.
Fowler’s six cityscape guest artist works can be previewed at peninsula-gallery.com. The works depict innocuous buildings that can be found in any city, creating atmospheric scenes that capture the textures, smells and sensations of metropolitan life.
To see the guest artists’ special collections, visit the gallery each month. For details about each artist’s background and creative process, follow Peninsula Gallery’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, in the Village Shoppes at the Beacon Inn, 520 East Savannah Road, Lewes.
