July 17, 2023

Bayhealth recently announced it received a $25,000 grant from Bank of America. The grant will support Bayhealth’s graduate medical education programs, which create more access to healthcare services by bringing skilled physician residents to central and southern Delaware. This is the third grant from Bank of America, which has given a total of $70,000 to Bayhealth’s GME programs.

This year, Bayhealth launched the emergency medicine residency program, which joins the general surgery, family medicine and internal medicine programs. Residents work side by side with Bayhealth physicians to care for our community members, learning the latest techniques to provide patients with the best care.

"Bank of America continues to provide generous support of our GME programs," said Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, Bayhealth Foundation president. "Their gifts help us ensure that all Delawareans have access to healthcare.”

The grant is part of Bank of America’s philanthropic support for communities across the First State. Awardees were selected for their commitment to addressing basic needs and workforce development for individuals and families.

“Bayhealth is delivering high-quality healthcare to our communities with compassion, integrity, respect and teamwork,” said Chip Rossi, Bank of America’s Delaware president,. “We continue to support Bayhealth’s vital mission, as they work to improve our health and our workforce here in Delaware.”
