Kay Buckner Spence, adventurous traveler

Kay Buckner Spence, 89, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, in Lewes. She was born in Baltimore, Md., in 1933, daughter of the late David and Lucille Buckner.

Kay enjoyed her career as a licensed clinical social worker, first at Sheppard Pratt Institute, then for some 25 years in private practice. In addition to her work, she enjoyed time with her many friends, and was a superb bridge player, an extraordinary cook and an adventurous traveler.

Kay is survived by her partner, Nancy Hultquist; her brother, Eric Land Buckner (Shelley Mazur); and her niece, Beth Buckner Denes and family.

Services are private. 

Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
