Watercolor exhibit to open with artists’ reception Aug. 4

August 3, 2023

Award-winning artists Anne Crown-Cyr, Joan Fabbri and Nancy Orme Mysak are returning to the art gallery at Nassau Valley Vineyards for an exhibit of their striking watercolors.

The public is invited to a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 4, at 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. For details, call 302-645-9463 or go to nassauvalley.com.

These painters are signature members of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and Delaware Watercolor Society, and have won awards for their art in international, national, regional and local competitions.

Crown-Cyr of Rehoboth Beach paints in watermedia and oil; she likes to emphasize color and shape, and focuses on everyday objects or scenes. Her paintings are in private collections throughout the U.S.

Lewes-based Fabbri, a talented cartoonist, began painting full time in watercolor after moving to Delaware 10 years ago. She likes to emphasize color and detail in her work, and particularly enjoys painting local scenes and shorebirds. Her art can be found at local shows and at the Shore Marketplace on Route 1.

Mysak is also an award-winning former art educator. She loves the Maryland Eastern Shore, where she lives and paints her representational watercolors. The vibrancy of color and the way light affects it on an object are what attracts her to a subject. “I had worked for years painting in oils and acrylics, and doing printmaking, but when I found watercolor, I fell in love,” she said.

“We are grateful to Peggy Raley-Ward for her generosity and the opportunity to show our work again in the lovely winery gallery,” said Crown-Cyr.
