Robert Glenn Fleming, treasured his family
Robert Glenn Fleming, 84, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Christiana Hospital in Wilmington. He was born March 9, 1939, in Aliquippa, Pa., son of the late Robert and Marjorie Fleming.
Bob will be remembered for his selflessness, his kindness, his ever-present sense of humor, and for always being there to help his family, friends, and neighbors. While he enjoyed his interaction with the staff and students during his career at Central Regional High School in Bayville, N.J., Bob would often tout his carpentry and his love of building. Above all, he often reminded us that his greatest treasure was his family. Bob’s mantra was reflected in the words of Jim Valvano: ”My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person; he believed in me.”
Bob is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary; his sons, Christopher (Anne) and Justin (Lindsay), whose accomplishments gave such meaning to his life; he treasured the visits of his five grandchildren, Elias, John, Heidi, Allie and Kase; and his brother, James, was a loving constant throughout his life.
A memorial celebration of Bob’s life is planned for September in New Jersey.
Final care has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
