Helen Ann Funds, Beebe Nursing School graduate
Helen Ann Funds, 71, of Millsboro, known as “Ann,” passed away Friday, Aug. 18, 2023.
She was born Dec. 7, 1951, in Seaford, to the late Ralph James and Helen Parker Smith.
Ann graduated from Millsboro High School in 1969 and Beebe School of Nursing in 1972. She earned her postgraduate degrees from Wilmington University.
She is survived by her daughter Allison Funds; granddaughter Ara Wilson, grandson Avery Funds, and great-grandson Amias Tilghman, all of Milton. She is also survived by her sister Lana Robb (Jeffrey) of Millsboro; one niece Amanda Bailey (Lee) of North Carolina; and one nephew Alex Robb of Augusta, Ga.; special friend and caregiver Hellen Melendez of Milton; and a special great-nephew, Abbott Bailey and great-niece, Audrey Bailey; as well as numerous cousins and loyal friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, at Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, where the viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ann’s memory to Crossroad Community Church, 20684 State Forest Road, Georgetown, DE 19947; or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
