Award-winning local children’s author Michelle Meadows held a launch party Aug. 19 for her new book, “Marvel Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: One Girl Can Make a Difference,” at Rehoboth Elementary School.
Meadows gave a brief presentation and reading from the book, and Moon Girl toys were given as raffle prizes. There was a giant Moon Girl Magic cookie as a centerpiece on the refreshment table, and everyone enjoyed cake and cookies while Meadows signed her new book and others she has written that were available for purchase. She also took part in a question-and-answer session with attendees.
“The event was very well attended, and everyone had a lot of fun,” said Meadows. “It was a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of books and reading.”
Meadows is the author of 15 books, with more on the way. Connection, compassion and family are common themes in her work. A native of Washington, D.C., Meadows moved to the Delaware beach area in 2015.
