Juveniles charged with car theft after police find stolen vehicle in Ellendale

Two juveniles face charges after police found a stolen vehicle in Ellendale.

 

Ellendale police recovered a stolen 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan Aug. 22  in the Ingram Village development, and with help from Delaware State Police, Milton police and a Bridgeville Police K-9 Unit, two juvenile suspects were developed, said Ellendale Police Chief Bruce E. Von Goerres.

 

Von Goerres said Ellendale police obtained warrants Aug. 25 and arrested one juvenile on charges of felony theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree conspiracy, two counts of theft and one count of criminal mischief. The juvenile was released to a parent pending arraignment in Sussex County Family Court. On Aug. 27, police arrested the second juvenile on the same charges. The juvenile was committed to Stevenson Juvenile Detention Center in Milford in default of $1,300 secured bond. Police said an arraignment in Family Court was held Aug. 28.
