Beverly Elaine Shirley, Bethany Beach resident

Beverly Elaine Shirley, 101, of Bethany Beach, and formerly of Clinton, Md., passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2023, at Brandywine Living Seaside Pointe, Rehoboth Beach.

She was born in Maryland Dec. 6, 1921. Beverly was married to her husband Daniel for 75 years. He died in 2018 at 98. 

Survivors include her son, Stephen Shirley (Mary) of Crofton, Md.; grandsons, Michael and Gregory Walsh; granddaughter, Cristin Miller; seven great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Michael Walsh. Her daughter, Teresa Walsh, died in 2022. 

A visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, at Melson’s Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro.
