Realtor Chelsea Bristow to host Trees of Cheer event Nov. 26

Chelsea Bristow, Realtor, of The Carrie Lingo Team, recently announced she will be hosting the third annual Trees of Cheer event to bring joy and holiday cheer to children and families at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Delaware facility in Wilmington.

The event is set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Beacon Inn, 514 E. Savannah Road, Lewes. It offers an opportunity for community members to celebrate the holiday season by decorating trees for children undergoing medical treatments at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington,

Last year, more than 60 trees were decorated, and $2,600 was raised for the families staying at the house. Families who received the donations noted that the effort brought them joy and comfort in a time of uncertainty and stress.

This year, Bristow aims to donate 80 trees, along with a monetary donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities to assist with families’ needs during a busy holiday season.

Bristow said this event is one of her favorite parts of the holidays. “So many of us take the joy and cheer of the holiday season for granted. For those undergoing medical treatments or having surgeries, that joy can be hard to come by. While they have the support of the Ronald McDonald House, it just isn’t the same as celebrating at home. This event is just one way that we can bring back a sense of joy and normalcy during a difficult time. The kids coming into the house are able to pick a tree to keep to brighten up their room.”

The event, which includes all trees and holiday decor, is also fun for those participating in decorating efforts. Hot chocolate and cookies are served by Santa’s elves, and this year, Santa may even be making an appearance,

Sponsorships are now being accepted. The fee to attend and decorate the tree is $60, which includes the tree and fun decorations. Reserving early is encouraged.

For those who cannot attend, there are other ways to help. The Santa Level sponsorship is $50 and includes a name on display at the Ronald McDonald House. As a Santa’s Elf for $30, sponsors can support the purchase of decor and trees.
