Greenwood man charged with stealing light poles
A Greenwood man faces a felony theft charge after police say he took two 40-foot light poles Oct. 18 from an Ellendale property.
Police were called at 1:57 p.m. to a home in the 15000 block of Rockin Way and were told by the homeowner, 73, that two light poles were taken from his property. Police say they later identified the suspect as Richard Boyd, 55.
On Oct. 23, police said they were notified by Georgetown Probation and Parole that Boyd was in their custody. Boyd was turned over to troopers and taken to Delaware State Police Troop 4 where he was charged with felony theft greater than $1,500 and victim is older than 62 and felony second-degree conspiracy. Boyd was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on his own recognizance.
